After many critiques of Delta Airlines handling of a disruptive supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, the company has decided to ban the passenger for life.
The New York Times reports a memo was sent out employees on Monday (Nov. 28) about the Nov. 25 incident where the unidentified man spewed insults to Hillary Clinton supporters by calling them “Hillary b****hes.” He also said, “Donald Trump! It’s your president. Every goddamn one of you. If you don’t like it, too bad.” Chief executive Edward H. Bastian announced customers on the Allentown bound flight will receive full refunds and the Trump-supporter is now banned from flying the Atlanta-based airline.
“This individual displayed behavior that was loud, rude and disrespectful to his fellow customers,” Bastian said. He added, “We must require civility on our planes and in our facilities.”
The incident began when the passenger discussed the election with fellow passenger Emma Baum, who was out of the country during the election. Baum recorded the man’s rant and uploaded it to Facebook where millions saw it. It was also picked up on Twitter on Friday (Nov. 25).

Baum told reporters the passenger was taken away briefly but remained on the flight. Bastian replied to the allegation in the memo, claiming the employees were not aware of the full outburst. “If our colleagues had witnessed firsthand what was shown in the video, there is no question they would have removed him from the aircraft,” Bastian added. “He will never again be allowed on a Delta plane.”
