After three years of dating, Derek Fisher and Gloria Govan are finally preparing to say “i do.” According to reports, the former Los Angeles Laker turned New York Knicks head coach proposed to Govan earlier this month. Fisher dropped to one knee during a family get-together at the couple’s Los Angeles area home to pop the question, and 33-year-old Govan said yes.
Fisher and Govan were both legally married when they began dating in 2015. Fisher settled his divorce with ex-wife Candace back in May 2016. The two were married for 11 years and have four children together. While Govan was married to Matt Barnes and share their twin boys and the pair ended their marriage after two years in December 2016.
Barnes congratulated Fisher and Govan on their forthcoming wedding.
“I have two beautiful boys from my ex we are both focussing on co-parenting & providing the best atmosphere and childhood for them,” Barnes said “They love him, so I love it. Despite not seeing eye to eye initially with Derek, he and I are on the same page and communicate weekly about Isaiah and Carter. With that being said congrats on the engagement!”
As of now, there’s no date on when the two will tie the knot.
