Dr. Dre’s studio sessions are seldom recorded, but his newest Aftermath signee Anderson .Paak allows us to see what happens behind closed doors in their new mini documentary “All In A Day’s Work.” The brief video exposes the Compton singer’s studio sessions with the veteran N.W.A producer as he prepares for his biggest performance yet at Coachella.
“I can hear it like night and day,” Paak said in the video. “When I work with him on a song and when I work by myself. And, after I was done working with Dre, I had a different approach of how I went in the studio. It was just more tenacity.”

After working with legendary artists like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and most recently Kendrick Lamar, this is the first time we’ve seen Dre’s creative process in action with his rising prodigy. In the documentary, the camera catches Dre candidly offering his expertise as Paak puts his major performance together from scratch.
“The artists I like to work with are people that you know their voice from the first syllable,” Dre said about his new artist. “As soon as he opens his mouth, you’re going to know it’s him. And, he’s coming with his voice, his delivery, his energy. He seems like an old soul.”
