Yesterday (Oct. 25), a clip of a 16-year-old black teen named Treasure on Dr. Phil made the rounds. The Internet was either laughing out loud or watching feeling mortified as she explained how she believes in her heart that she is a white girl who wholeheartedly hates black people. She called them “gorillas” and “monkeys.”
“It makes me feel good to put down African-Americans because it helps them stay in their place,” Treasure said in one of the clips that’s been going viral. “I identify with the Ku Klux Klan because the way they believe is just so smart. White is right.”
Charlamagne Tha God dubbed the confused teenager “Donkey Of The Day” on his hit radio show, Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. Uncle Charla discusses how Treasure’s prefrontal cortex is not fully developed since she’s a teen, but that didn’t stop him from fully going in on her.
“The problem with Treasure is the fact she hates herself,” he said. “She hates the beauty of her blackness. She has not learned that it is a beauty and an honor to be black.”
Charlamagne consistently brought up the point that her prefrontal cortex being underdeveloped does not excuse the fact that she’s being an attention-seeker, and it surely doesn’t excuse the people who have enabled her behavior.
“Treasure is 16, she don’t know any better,” he continues. “The real blame here goes to her mom and the producers of the Dr. Phil Show for entertaining this nonsense… there’s currency in the form of attention, and right now I’m part of the problem… all she wants is the attention anyway, and she won.”
He also compared her to the transracial Chappelle Show character Clayton Bigsby and Rachel Dolezal, but the difference is that Treasure is putting down others because she doesn’t love herself.
