In celebration of the life of the late Maurice White and the lasting legacy of R&B/funk band, the 58th Grammys is honoring Earth, Wind & Fire by enlisting the surviving members to present the Record of the Year award to one of this year’s nominees.
The contenders for Record of the Year include The Weeknd for “Can’t Feel My Face,” Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” D’Angelo’s “Real Love,” and “Blank Space,” by Taylor Swift.
The group, who’ve also received a Lifetime Achievement honoree and been inducted into the Hall of Fame, know a thing or two about the Grammys and this award in particular. The group holds over fifteen Grammy nominations, winning six of those, including one for Record of the Year for “After the Love Has Gone” in 1979.
As for who will win this year, tune in with host LL Cool J for the 58th Grammys on CBS on February 15.
