Ella Mai brought the summer vibes to the 2018 American Music Award stage with a crowd-moving performance of “Boo’d Up.”
Accompanied by a live band, the Britsh born singer commanded fans and friends to their feet as she began her performance in the center of the crowd, jamming her way onto the stage where adoring fans circled her in a show of support.
Billboard reported that Mai would be performing the record-breaking track on the award show late last week (Oct.5). The 23-year-old singer-songwriter will also be giving Xfinity TV customers with an exclusive Xfinity presentation of her second chart-topping hit “Trip.” The performance will be available immediately after the show’s conclusion, On Demand where Xfininity users can watch past American Music Awards performances leading up to the show.
Although Ella Mai is nominated for Favorite Female Artist – Soul/R&B, this marks her first ever performance and appearance at the American Music Awards. Hopefully, it won’t be her last. With a star rising as fast as Mai’s, this could be the first of several times the “Trip” singer will be showcased.
