Within the last year, 9th Wonder’s Jamla Records struck gold after its star lyricist Rapsody dropped off her high-profile studio album Laila’s Wisdom. Since Rap’s sophomore LP earned a GRAMMY nomination, Jamla plans to keep the momentum going by dropping their first major project of 2018. Before the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve, Elzhi & Khrysis announced their joint album Jericho Jackson.
The Soul Council producer and the Detroit spitter haven’t revealed the drop date (yet). Along with the announcement, Elzhi did drop off a preview of what to expect from the album, and it’s nothing but fire emojis. There’s no title to the clip, but it sounds like Khrysis took a page out of Hov’s book and sampled Malik & The Lafayette Afro-Rock Band’s “Darkest Light.”
