As most Americans do their best to keep social distancing in mind during the coronavirus pandemic, some are getting in between the sheets which can lead to many babies next winter.
Experts have predicted that a so-called “coronavirus baby boom” could be happening as we speak. “If Dr. Amy Acton is right, we may even see a baby boom,” Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine told reporters Friday (March 20). “We’ll see a lot of babies born. There’s nothing more joyful than a child. We have a lot to look forward to.”
Condom sales have increased globally for the right and obscure reasons. In the early days of the outbreak, consumers in Singapore used the condoms as gloves after bogus rumors claimed it would help thwart COVID-19. While condoms are still in stores, the notion of millions using them has only increased sales with critics pointing that a potential shortage will be near.
Doctors have encouraged people to keep the good love vibes going. Popular medical personality Dr. Ohmet Oz tells TMZ, “You’ll live longer, get rid of the tension. … Maybe you’ll make some babies.”
“It’s going to happen. It’s probably going to be the biggest baby boom we’ve seen,” Dr. Kevin Kathrotia of Millennium Neonatology told FOX Business. “Anytime there’s the threat of a hurricane, there’s a little baby boom.”
“Everyone’s at home,” he added. “Those already with kids are less likely to have a kid, but those married without kids — there’s going to be kids in nine months, I can assure you.”
For women who are already pregnant, New York-based doctor Dr. Renee Wellenstein suggests keeping stress levels low. “The first trimester is most dangerous as far as losing a pregnancy,” she said. “Stay healthy and do your best to keep your stress level down,” she said.
