First Lady Michelle Obama will put the ladies first at this year’s SXSW music conference in Austin, Texas today (March 16).
Alongside famed entertainers Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah, Sophia Bush and revered songwriter Diane Warren, Mrs. Obama will discuss plans “to break barriers for the 62 million girls around the world who are not in school today, more than half of whom are adolescent” through the initiative Let Girls Learn.
In addition to this speech, a new power anthem for girls and women across the globe was also written by Warren, titled “This Is for My Girls.” The inspiring melody features guest spots from music’s leading ladies like Missy, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, Zendaya and many more.
