Mackage’s Spring 2010 collection, shown yesterday afternoon (September 10) at the store’s pop-up location in Manhattan’s Meat Packing District, was yet another visual display of the brand’s slogan “detailed to perfection.” The Canada-based jacket label continued its mission to revamp and perfect outwear in a way that is both modern and imminently wearable.
The collection featured both men’s and women’s jackets in an array of styles and materials–from the timeless motorcycle jacket to the ultra-utilitarian “packable” jackets in feather-light nylon. The men’s collection was full of tailored pieces that were perfect for the transitional temperatures (it was nearly impossible to resist swiping one, as the NYC summer climate begins to cool) and were versatile enough to be worn with jeans or trouser pants.
The women’s collection also upped the stakes, not only offering a full range of traditional cropped leather jackets, but also a series of mod trenches and futuristic coats with side zipper details.
