The red-haired comedian, who was a close friend to Rivers, took over her chair earlier this year to be the “brash and eccentric” voice on the show. However, after seven episodes, Griffin is calling it quits. What happened? She basically didn’t want to make fun of people as roughly as the network wanted her to.
“My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT,” Griffin says in a Twitter post. “There is plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people’s bodies into it. Again people… context!” Griffin says her style of humor does not fit with the creative director of the show and it’s time to move on.

This news arrives a few weeks after her former co-host, Kelly Osbourne, decided to exit the show as well, following comments made by E! News correspondent Giuliana Rancic on actress Zendaya Coleman’s Academy Awards red carpet appearance.
It’s becoming clear that Joan River’s legacy is and will be intact, and remains pretty much unmatched humor. With what seems to be no one to fit her boisterous shoes, is it also the show’s time to “move on”?
