HBO’s hit series Girls is set to roll out its third season Jan. 12, and the quirky show’s release isn’t the only thing that has fans itching to watch. The music for the Lena Dunham-created show will feature sounds from Christina Perri, Lily Allen, Icona Pop and Miguel, according to music supervisor Manish Raval, who revealed the new tunes in an interview with Radio.com.
When asked about tapping the “Adorn” singer to pen new melodies for the highly-praised dramedy, Raval said, “We reached out to him. We are a huge fan of his and very early on in the process Lena [Dunham] said, ‘Can we just call him and see if he’ll do something?’ We did, he said yes. It was very easy, it was very simple.”
However, Rihanna’s navy might not be tuning in. The Bajan sensation didn’t grant the show rights to feature her track “Talk That Talk.”
Raval’s past work ranged from selecting songs for movies such as Fruitvale Station, Donnie Darko, to television shows Community, and New Girl.
Make sure to catch Girls at 10 p.m. Sunday on HBO.
