The summer just hit but it seems a Cruel Winter is on the way. In a recent sit-down with Blogionista, CyHi The Prynce revealed that G.O.O.D. Music may be releasing a second compilation by the end of 2013. “We in negotiations with Def Jam,” he said. “Sometimes they’re extra slow. We’re looking to put it out this year.” The fate of the group’s follow-up to the 2012 Cruel Summer LP was still unsure when VIBE spoke to Common in January. “I don’t know if there will be a “Cruel Winter” or not,” he said. “Kanye is the core behind any of the G.O.O.D. Music releases as a collective and right now, each artist is working on solo things. We still work together but I don’t know if it’ll be a cruel winter. it would be nice though.” While the roster’s leader ‘Ye has been preoccupied with the release of his chart-topping Yeezus album and fatherhood, the team has kept busy. Comm recently starred in the movie Luv, Big Sean is crafting his sophomore effort Hall of Fame, Pusha T is dropping his solo debut My Name Is My Name in July and CyHi has received writing credit for nine tracks on Yeezy’s latest offering. The Georgia-bred rapper/ songwriter is even cooking up his new album Hardway Musical album for early 2014 but is in no rush to crank out fresh material. “I don’t want to be that one-hit wonder guy that puts something on the radio and then another dude right after me come put another song on the radio. Then I’ll be forgotten about,” he said. “So, I like to build my fans organically, touch them, kiss the babies, shake hands. It’ll be out soon.” Watch the full interview below. https://youtube.com/watch?v=7PUBxs1ZXaQ%3Fversion%3D3 Photo Credit: Getty
