Following in the footsteps of NBA Jam, the classic Nintendo video game, Tecmo Bowl, is finally about to get a much-needed update. Less than two months after EA Sports announced that they’re working on an updated version of NBA Jam, Tecmo announced they’re planning to release Tecmo Bowl Throwback, a new version of the Super Nintendo game, Tecmo Super Bowl. Unfortunately, like the older games, Tecmo Bowl Throwback will not be include real NFL players. But it will feature both 2D and 3D settings within the game, meaning you can either take the old school route and play it like you did back in the ’90s or make it look more modern. Either way, it’ll be available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime this spring. Sorry, Wii players, no dice on getting in on the new action, but you can download the old game through the Wii’s online service. Only question left: Who’s got dibs on “QB EAGLES”?!—Chris Yuscavage
