If you’re not totally in the holiday mood, allow this magical mashup of songs from Beyonce and Broadway show stopper Hamilton to lift your spirits.
Arranged by Jared Jenkins and created by Michael Korte, #HAM4BEY combines the tunes from the Queen Bey and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Pulitzer Prize-winning brain child to create one incredible video.
The singers in the video- India Carney, Vincint, Mariah Maxwell, Jej Millanes, Kelly Margareth Lee and Jamond McCoy- effortlessly riff and harmonize to ***flawless versions of “Irreplaceable” and “Yonce,” and mix them together with songs from the musical, like “My Shot” and “Satisfied.” The end result is something completely worth listening to for the full 6:55.
Korte spoke to Mashable about the video, where he said he wanted to “selfishly combine” his two favorite things.
“The video is so important NOW as it is 7 minutes of soul-hugging joy and an unapologetic celebration of diversity in a time where many are questioning what the future holds,” he continued.
The show’s creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, was so impressed with the video that he tweeted about it, stating that it “lives at the intersection of my interests.”
THIS lives at the intersection of my interests. https://t.co/NRep3vHVrl
