Idris Elba is here to bury the latest celebrity dating rumor. The Wire actor and “Material Girl” Madonna have been the subject of a budding romance, E! News reports. But now, Elba took his personal life into his own hands and went public to squash any inkling that he’s dating the internationally known artist.
“Am I sleeping with Madonna?” he wrote on Twitter early Monday morning (Oct. 31). “No motherfu*kers… “Don’t believe the Hype.”
Previous reports stated that Elba and Madonna were seen getting up close and personal on several public outings, most recently in London at M Restaurant. At that time, according to a source’s revelation, Elba and Madonna “only had eyes for each other. That seemed very, very clear.”
Elba, 44, recently took up a new profession, that of a pro kickboxer. His sporting endeavor is part of Discovery Networks International’s forthcoming series, Idris Elba: The Fighter. “It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to fight professionally,” he said, per Deadline. “Entering the ring to further test myself as a human being is a challenge I have been looking to take on for quite some time.”
The show will premiere in 2017, and will follow Elba’s global trek to master the skill of kickboxing.
