While she noted that she is indeed “lonely” since becoming a widow, she revealed that she has zero plans of remarrying, and has no plans of dating right now. Instead, she’s doing what she can to soak in the best of life and take it day by day.
“Sometimes, I don’t want people to know how sad I am,” the 63-year-old said. “People say to me: Oh, you’re so strong. I’m not strong – I am just trying to keep it together… I will never remarry. I mentioned my husband the other day with someone, and they said to me: ‘You mean your late husband?’ I said, no, he is always going to be my husband.”
Iman also says she’s not a fan of the increase in attention she’s received since Bowie died of cancer at the age of 69.
“People take pictures of me in the street, and say [touching my arm]: ‘I am so sorry for your loss,’” she says. “I’m like, don’t touch me. You just took pictures of me, how can you be sorry?… I get the fans’ grief, but it’s not the same. They have lost someone they look up to; we have lost a husband and a father.”
To keep herself occupied, Iman says she is looking forward to traveling more. She notes that she and her “traveling buddy” are hoping to visit Vietnam, Korea and Australia.
