Eminem shook up the game up when he released Kamikaze last month (Aug. 31). Taking shots at as many industry names as possible, Em flexed his mastery on the entire album, reminding critics his skills have not yet hindered.
“You ain’t never made a list next to no Biggie, no Jay/ Next to Taylor Swift and that Iggy ho, you about to really blow/ Kelly, they’ll be putting your name/ Next to Ja, next to Benzino—die, motherfucker!/ Like the last motherfucker sayin’ Hailie in vain” spit Em.
Taking some time to address the name-drop on Instagram Saturday (Sept. 17), the New York rapper celebrated the occasion with a sense of nostalgia, crowning himself the “LeBron James” of “this rap sh*t.”
“The more Em mentions my name, the more I realize how fucking LEGENDARY I am…” said the New York rapper. “I was killing the game so hard that all the biggest rappers in the industry (at the time) joined forces to dethrone the God…my music is TIMELESS.”
With beef dating back to the early 2000s, Rule and Benzino have not seen successful rap careers since their run-in with Em. Allegedly said to have ended both of their careers with tracks like “Doe Rae Me (Hailie’s Revenge)” and “Go To Sleep,” Em was more than likely trying to threaten Kelly than commemorate Rule.
