A shocking revelation has come from a former NBA star.
Recently, Jalen Rose revealed that he purposely injured Kobe Bryant during a NBA playoff game. During the 2000 finals, the Lakers were dominating the Pacers in game 1 and 2, and Jalen was having trouble stopping Kobe. Rose says the pressure was on and he made a split second decision that he has never forgotten.
“Kobe Bean Bryant goes up for a jump shot out on the right wing,” Rose told Grantland.com. “I contest the jump shot. Kobe lands on my foot. He hobbles off and actually misses the next game. If it was up to me, he should’ve just missed the whole series. I would’ve had a championship ring and it would’ve been no harm, no foul.”
Did you purposely put your foot underneath him when he landed?” producer Dave Jacoby asks, as reported by Ball Don’t Lie. “Don’t lie to me. Jalen, don’t lie to the people.”
Jalen Rose: “I think I did it on purpose,” Rose says in the video. Later after more prodding he says, “I can’t say it was an accident.”
However, even Jalen admits that karma came back to bite him in the… you know what. The Lakers went on to beat the Pacers in that series.
