Jamal “Gravy” Woolard probably never ever thought he would be portraying the Notorious B.I.G. in a film when he was just an aspiring rapper, but he did that. Jamal probably also never thought he would be portraying Biggie, again, in Tupac’s biopic again, but he just did that, too.

Who else can say they have played the greatest rapper Brooklyn has produced on the big screen (twice)? No one! The New York native was recently at VIBE’s offices to talk about his experiences as Big Poppa.
“I felt honored, man,” says Jamal about his role in All Eyez On Me. “[The director] Benny Boom and LT Hutton asked me to do the role, and it was great working with producer David Robinson. It’s going to be a classic.”
Gravy says he prepped himself all over again to get back into “Biggie mode”, and feels uber-confident in the upcoming movie — which is slated for a Nov. 11, 2016 release in theaters nationwide.
“I already know it’s going to do $100 million in the first week,” says Jamal confidently. “[And] big ups to Demetrius Shipp Jr. for doing the best [Pac] I have ever seen. I gotta give him the most praise.”
While he avoided spilling any details about his scenes or specifics about the film, the rising actor said he threw in something special for Benny Boom.
“We even did a little surprise for Benny where it’s just [Demetrius and me] onstage rockin’. It was a beautiful situation, so hopefully Benny will let the world see what’s going on.”
