James Harden partnered with Target and music industry entrepreneur Karen Civil for a recent Christmas shopping spree at a local Target in Houston, Texas. The Rockets player invited kids and their families for the special occasion. The generous initiative was also made possible through the NBA star’s foundation, 3TheHardenWay.
According to his charity, every child got a gift card with a couple hundred dollars on it while Harden still made sure to purchase presents for the children’s parents as well. Harden, along with his family, have hosted the annual event for a total of seven years now.

Harden has proven to have a generous heart throughout the years as he’s done so much for the city of Houston. Just last year he donated a reported total of $1 Million for the victims of the disastrous Hurricane Harvey, which struck the area pretty bad. He also hosts annual Thanksgiving events as well, according to The Houston Chronicle.
“I think about this more than anything,” Harden told the paper. “I think about basketball, too, of course, but I think about how I can give back and what I can do all the time.”
“Being able to have events like this in the community, to raise money and to have a good time with the people in Houston,” he added.
