John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen have become known for speaking their minds without fear or reservation. Earlier this month, the couple teamed up to destroy Piers Morgan via Twitter after remarks he made about the late Muhammad Ali. Recently, Legend was asked how he felt about the Democratic sit-in and gun violence, and he placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of Republicans.
“We need to do something about gun safety, gun control, and the republicans are scared to do it,” Legend says. “There’s nothing that’s gonna happen that’s gonna make them do it. If a bunch of elementary school kids getting shot isn’t gonna make them do it, then they’re not gonna do it. They’re scared of the NRA.”
The “Glory” singer goes on to say that the only way to make progress against gun violence is to vote out Republicans.
