John Singleton’s family are on different pages in regards to his health. The legendary director’s daughter, Cleopatra Singleton, is disputing her grandmother’s claims about him being in a coma.
In legal documents filed Friday (April 27), Cleopatra maintains that her grandmother, Sheila Ward, is “misrepresenting” Singleton’s health predicament, CNN reports.
Singleton suffered a stroke on April 17. Ward recently filed for temporary conservatorship stating that her son was in a coma and therefore unable to care for himself, and manage his finances.
Singleton’s daughter argues that her grandmother has a conflict of interest because she serves as his “personal and business manager,” and shouldn’t be granted conservatorship.
Singleton is medically sedated to keep his blood pressure low, and to “allow the vessels in his brain to heal,” according to his daughter’s filing.
The documents reportedly state that Singleton is “progressing everyday” and could be released from the ICU as early as next week.
