Jordin Sparks is very unbothered. Two days after a leaked recording of her now ex-boyfriend, Sage the Gemini, saying he wanted to “stab” her went public, the former American Idol winner is speaking out.
In a lengthy Instagram post Wednesday night (Feb. 24), the 26-year-old proved that she’s not looking back following the audio’s release.
“There’s so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad over someone who doesn’t. There’s a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn’t need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself with love. Not anyone else,” the post said in part.
Sparks’ relationship with the “Red Nose” rapper made headlines after the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, Curium Hurley, leaked audio from a phone call they had. In the recording, Sage held no punches in discussing the singer and said that she annoyed him so much that he wanted to “stab” her before explaining that their relationship was just a publicity stunt to promote their separate music projects.
“Everything was f**king horrible,” Sage allegedly stated. “She got on my nerves. I wanted to stab her. All of that s**t. Don’t get me wrong. She’s cool. She’s level-headed, whatever, but she’s not no regular person… Everybody on the outside looking in [thinks] it’s hella perfect.”
Just last week, and ahead of the audio’s release, the rapper took to Instagram to beg Sparks to return his phone calls.
“Can’t sit here and act industry like this s**t don’t hurt me,” he wrote. “You the only girl I can call at 3 in the morning and you’ll answer no problem. You the only girl that can wake up out of a dead sleep and get me some water because I was coughing in my sleep, the only girl that loves me the way you were supposed to. I miss you too much to watch you look so amazing at the Clive Davis party and not be able to call you and express how much I appreciated the look because you won’t answer nor text back. The feeling is horrible.”
The couple split earlier this month after 10 months of dating.
