Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, a new ad for his Sauza 901 tequila personifies the glory days of the lime as the go-to fruit at the bar. Taking on the role of Rick “Sour” Vane, the singer taps his funny bone for a rendition of life as “condiment of the decade.” With television spots, awards, girls and the lavish life, Vane had it all. Until Sauza 901, that is.

Tagged as the tequila with “no limes needed,” Timberlake’s line of libations becomes the bane of Vane’s existence, making him and his lime crew obsolete. Filmed in the style of a Where Are They Now? special, Van is now a spoiled lime, with mold growing out of his head, full of resent against Sauza 901 for changing the tequila game.
As if things could not get more ridiculous, Timberlake also posted a PSA – as himself – denying having any hand in the destruction of the “lime” light:
