The purple-haired Fashion Police host stands pretty in vibrant patterns as she dishes on her boyfriend, the possibility of having kids and her father Ozzy. When confronted about her exchange with pop phenom Lady Gaga over a fashion critique she made on-air, Kelly O was blunt with her response.
“I loved Lady Gaga. I totally believed in everything she stood for, until I realized she’s a great big hypocrite,” she said. “Don’t say, ‘When you see bullying, intervene,’ while letting your fans send me death threats. If my fans did that, I would not stand for it. You can say whatever you want with your millions of monsters. I know the truth. Your bells and whistles mean nothing to me. You’re feeding on the freaks and geeks to further your career? Do you really care about the gay community? Because if you did, you’d stand up for it more than you do.”
Earlier this year, mother Sharon issued a letter to Gaga, expressing the same sentiment after the two duked it out over the style diss. “Your open letter is hypocritical and full of contradictions. And as your mother Cynthia supports you, I support my daughter Kelly,” Sharon wrote. “How sweet that you have empathy for my daughter, as you feel that she has taken a less passionate path in life. You say her work on E! with the Fashion Police is “rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another.” Welcome to the real world. Example, when I saw you wear a dress made out of raw meat, I was sickened.”
It wasn’t just her issues with Mother Monster that she put on record. Kelly admitted to still coping her addiction like her rock star daddy.
“He’s an addict; I’m an addict. It’s going to be one of those things we battle for the rest of our lives,” she said. “I take the necessary precautions. If you’re not happy and healthy, it’s not worth any of it. Everyone says sex, drugs, and rock and roll are fun. It ain’t fun. It is not something to glorify.”
