When Kevin Hart isn’t selling out international arenas with his stand-up tours, or being attached to box office hit after box office hit, the widely-successful comedian likes to step into the shoes of his rapping alter-ego, Chocolate Droppa.
But for this appearance, the Philly native showcased another personality when asked to rap over Desiigner’s chart-topper, “Panda.” In promotion of Hart’s forthcoming animated film, The Secret Life of Pets, he sang Desiigner’s track in the voice of his rabbit character, Snowball.
Worried that he might be a little off beat, Hart managed to get through the chorus before he was stunned by what the young rapper actually says on the Menace-produced track.
“Is this really the lyrics to this song?” he asks those in the studio. “Was this really what he says in the song?”
At the end, the BBC 1xtra host said, “Now you know what Desiigner is really talking about,” to which Hart swiftly replies, “No I don’t.”
