Comedian Kevin Hart revealed to Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show Tuesday (Jan. 12) that after presenting an award to Lady Gaga at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, he also inadvertently saved her life when the pop star/actress took a spill, thanks to his massive arms.
“Lady Gaga, she got an award,” he started his spiel off with. “And what people don’t know, after she got the award, she was walking off and she fell. I, like, had to catch her. And when I caught her I said, ‘I just want you to realize how big my arms are. They’re just … it could have been bad. It could have been really bad for you, but I saved your life.'”
When DeGeneres asked how far Gaga fell, the Ride Along 2 star continued to explain that he didn’t let her fall as far as she could have “because he’s a hero.”
“The thing is like she was on her way down. It could have been brutal, you know, we’re talking blood, broken bones,” he said to laughs from the audience. “But the inner hero in me grabbed her and my instincts kicked in, and I immediately cleared the camera. ‘MOVE!’ And then I had her and she was gasping for air. It was a moment. It was, like, a thing, and I was like, ‘I’m engaged.'”
The star, who is actually engaged to Eniko Parrish, also revealed that he will be tying the knot on August 8th, 2016. “The chocolate is going in the fridge!” he shouted. He noted that he doesn’t want much to do with the planning of the wedding, which he claims is Parrish’s special day.
“I don’t wanna answer one question,” he explained. “I just want a piece of chicken!”
