After two months of medical authorities searching for the cause of Kim Porter‘s death, officials have reached a conclusion. The mother-of-four died from lobar pneumonia on Nov. 15, 2018, TMZ reports. The illness is described as inflammation within the lungs. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, “The manner of death was certified as natural.” Previous reports stated Porter was battling flu-like symptoms for a lengthy period of time.
Further details reveal that Porter, 47, was active the day before her passing, with TMZ describing her as spending time with family watching movies and receiving a deep-tissue massage inside her Toluca Lake, Calif., home before she went to bed around 11:30 p.m. Her goddaughter, who was at the house the night before, saw Porter was still asleep at 8:30 a.m., but later, others within the home noticed Porter still didn’t get up from bed around 11:30 a.m. When they failed to find a pulse, 911 was called.
NBC News reports on Nov. 7, Porter said she had a sore throat. Five days later, she endured a fever of 102. On Nov. 14, the fever retreated to 96. Within her room, items like Pedialyte, tomato soup, bottles of water, and antibiotics were found.
Following Porter’s shocking passing, tributes within the entertainment industry swiftly poured out. Diddy, who was in a longtime relationship with the model/entrepreneur and shares three children with, shared his thoughts on Instagram.
