Lynne Spears will do anything to keep her good name in tact.
The mother of pop star and X Factor judge Britney Spears issued a court order against Sam Lufti that prevents her daughter’s former manager from describing her as an anti-Semite in their upcoming legal battle.
The controversy stemmed from Lynne’s memoir Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Fortune in a Tabloid World where she calls Lutfi a “Svengali,” a term used to describe someone who controls others through deceitful and nefarious means but also linked to the “Wandering Jew” character from Christian mythology, TMZ reports.
Lynne filed docs that would block Lutfi from bringing in an expert witness who would hone in on the anti-Semitic roots of the word. In 2009, Lutfi filed a lawsuit against Lynne for libel, defamation, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and breach of contract. A jury is currently being selected for the case.
