Mariah Carey is giving us a look into her superstar life with her upcoming E! docu-series, Mariah’s World. The legendary songbird confirmed the news to The New York Times, however, the diva refuses to call her show a reality show. As we know, E! is famous for being the home to many of them.
“The series, she said, is all about getting to know her better and not, as she put it, ‘Here I am, getting my nails done,'” the article reads.
“I thought it would be a good opportunity to kind of, like, show my personality and who I am, even though I feel like my real fans have an idea of who I am,” Mimi said. “A lot of people have misperceptions about this and that.”
The show will focus on her European and South African concerts and planning her upcoming wedding to billionaire, James Packer. However, she noted that Packer will not appear on the show, and her 4-year-old twins with ex-husband Nick Cannon, Moroccan and Monroe, will make sparing appearances.
“They haven’t been filmed at all yet,” she said via a phone conversation. “There might be a couple of moments, but it’s not about making them the stars of the show. They’re too young to make that decision.” The show’s co-stars will be Carey’s singers, dancers and her manager.
The show may premiere in late-summer, with each episode being an hour long. No one knows if this will be the only season, though, not even Mimi herself.
“I don’t know,” she said when asked if the show will return for future seasons. “We’ll see how long I can tolerate being around cameras that much.”
