Earlier this week, news broke detailing the cancellation of Steve Harvey’s eponymous talk show, plus his hosting slot on NBC’s Little Big Shots. The decisions sparked various conversations on social media and have now garnered the attention of another entertainer that’s been linked to Harvey.
During a live stream of her YouTube show with husband Sidney Hicks, Mo’Nique addressed Harvey’s recent television losses but came to his defense in the face of those who might’ve poked fun at Harvey’s situation. “We do not celebrate what appears to be someone else’s demise,” she said, per Baller Alert. “We do not stand and applaud and say, ‘Yeah, look what’s happening.’ ‘That’s what you get.’ That’s not where we’re coming from. That’s not a stance we’ve ever taken.”
In February, the pair engaged in a viral conversation on blackballing in Hollywood and getting paid your worth. Mo’Nique addressed her discourse with famed director Lee Daniels, and executive/philanthropist Oprah Winfrey. “The difficulty came in when people that look like me, like Oprah, Tyler [Perry], Lee Daniels, and I got to put my brother Steve on the list, y’all knew I was not wrong,” she said at the time. “Each one of you said to me, ‘Mo’Nique you’re not wrong,’ and when I heard you go on the air and you said that my sister done burned too many bridges and there’s nothing I can do for her now, Steve do you know how hurt I was?”
