Just like Michael Jackson’s funeral, the highly anticipated MJ tribute concert has been put on hold… until 2010.
The Vienna concert planned for this month had originally tagged Chris Brown and Mary J. Blige as part of the star-studded lineup, however both artists have denied involvement. Natalie Cole was also named as a performer, but the singer has told TMZ she wouldn’t be there, either.
Jermaine Jackson announced the lineup and has subsequently called the show’s postponement. Today, the former Jackson 5 member posted a blog on the Jackson tribute site apologizing for the confusion. “The past few months have been a very difficult time for the Jackson family,” he wrote.
J.J. continued, “Instead of eight weeks we now have eight months to prepare and some of the stars who would not have been able to participate in the Vienna concert, but expressed their wish to participate in this event, will be able to perform live on stage at the renowned Wembley Stadium in London in June 2010.”
The tribute show was originally scheduled for September 26. –Linda Hobbs
