Morgan Freeman was involved in an emergency landing on Saturday night (Dec. 5). The 78-year-old actor chartered a private jet to Houston, Texas, but due to a suspected hydraulic malfunction during takeoff, the pilot initiated an emergency landing in Tunica, Miss., The Wrap reports.
There’s still no definite cause for the abrupt landing, but it was reported that the jet’s tire exploded. During the landing, the aircraft exceeded the runway and came to a halt in a dirt field. Reports state that Freeman was the only passenger on board, and no injuries occurred.
Freeman was en route to a National Geographic photo shoot this evening. Details are still forthcoming.
