Despite a little nip slip, Nicki Minaj made history as the first female rapper to headline JAY-Z’s annual Made In America Festival in Philadelphia on Sunday night (Sept. 2).
Although she experienced a minor wardrobe issue while performing, the “Barbie Dreams” rapper left the stage feeling happy and unbothered. “I feel G R E A T,” tweeted Minaj directly after curtain call.
As Minaj danced in a belted mini-dress during her highly-choreographed set, the front of her dress fell open, exposing her bare chest and parts of her (thankfully) covered nipples. Aware that the show must go on, the 35-year-old rapper quickly covered herself up and continued her dance sequence.
“You know what? Let’s go at it. They done saw my nipples at least 50 times tonight” she joked before continuing and starting her “Motorsport” performance on the Rocky Stage. Later that evening, the Queens native poked fun at the incident and tweeted the distressed, weary emoji.

Regardless of the mishap, Nicki killed her set at MIA bringing special performances by Lil Uzi Vert, A$Ap Ferg and 6ix9ine to the stage.
