Gucci Mane has been behind bars on federal gun charges for two years, and despite the rumors of an early release, it seems like the Atlanta rapper isn’t coming out anytime soon.

According to Gucci Mane’s lawyer, Drew Findling, reports alleging a pre-mature release of July 11th are false.
“We do not know where that rumor came from, so that’s just Internet and social media fabrication,” Findling told MTV News. “We have no idea where that release date came from because we’re still in the midst of resolving things with the Bureau of Prisons. There was some confusion on their part, about his release date. I can’t get into specifics, but we’re in the midst of corresponding with the Bureau of Prisons,” Findling continued.

“I’m trying to iron out a specific release date for him, but what I can tell you is, that is not his release date. There’s nothing formal about that. It’s a product of social media.”
Mane was initially sentenced to 3 years, but has still made a slew of records even behind bars. Therefore, it comes to no surprise why fans are anticipating his release.
Time will tell.
