Paula Deen’s empire is tearing apart at the apron seems.
Now, the world’s largest retailer Walmart—who has carried health and wellness goods under her name—is cutting their business ties to Deen loose.
“We will not place new orders beyond those already committed,” Dave Tovar, a Walmart spokesman, told the Associated Press. “We will work with suppliers to address existing inventories and agreements.”
To pile on the problems, Paula’s government is being swiped from four buffet restaurants owned by Caesars throughout the country while Smithfield Foods, who catered her Deen-branded hams, said it was dropping her as a spokeswoman. Target Corp., who also carries her merchandise, is still evaluating the situation.
Trying to fight back sobs, the former Food Network star told Matt Lauer of NBC’s TODAY that humans make mistakes.
“If there’s anyone out there that has never said something that they wish they could take back, if you’re out there, please pick up that stone and throw it so hard at my head that it kills me,” she said.
