Two intoxicated wedding parties duked it out this past weekend in Philadelphia, resulting in three arrests and one death.
According to NBC Philadelphia, the altercation broke out when a member of one wedding was hit, erupting in a huge blowout in the lobby of the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel involving 75 to 100 people. Dozens of police were forced to use batons and tasers to stop the fight.
A 57-year-old man, who is the uncle of one of the brides, suffered a heart attack and was pronounced dead at Jefferson Hospital. Police say he was not part of the fight.
Matt Schultz, who was celebrating his 15th birthday at the hotel, shot a video of the brawl and posted it on YouTube. “I was up on the second floor watching. It was bedlam, out of hand,” he said.
The video shows two men fighting while a woman in a white dress, assumed to be the bride, gets whisked away. Cops using force to stop the melee is also seen. Police are still reviewing the tape to see if there were any circumstances that contributed to the man’s death.
Authorities also issued a statement, offering their condolences. “We continue to cooperate with the authorities and as this is an on-going police investigation any questions should be directed to the local police department. Our sincerest condolences go out to the family for their loss.”
