Fact: Parenting isn’t easy.
While trying to provide a safe home for one’s child (or children) parents also know they can’t always keep a watchful eye on their children, and have to trust they’ll do the right thing.
But we’ve all been kids before and have disobeyed the rules. In the age of social media, some parents use the platform to embarrass their child as a form of punishment. Some think public shaming is effective, while others think it does more harm than good.
ABC News followed Frances Hena, who made her 11 year old daughter hold a sign that read ‘I Was Disrespecting My Parents By Twerking At A School Dance.’ Toya Graham received national attention after she was filmed beating her son for participating in the Baltimore riots, and most recently, a mom has set the Internet a blaze for shaving her step-son’s head after receiving bad grades and for smoking weed.
