In July 2015, two of rap’s biggest artists engaged in a lyrical beef that was sparked by news of a certain ghostwriter.
Revealed by Meek Mill, aspiring rapper Quentin Miller allegedly served as a ghostwriter for Drake on a few of his songs, including “10 Bands.” Reference tracks were leaked for the world to hear, but obviously the evidence didn’t seem to hurt Drizzy’s reign.
Miller has yet to dive into thorough detail, but recently he shared new information that alludes to a physical scuffle with Meek Mill and a few members of his Dreamchasers imprint. While at a Nike store in Los Angeles around the time of the rift, Miller said the MMG member and his DC collective swiftly approached him and reportedly physically assaulted Miller.
What prompted the alleged altercation was a letter Miller penned stating that he was never a ghostwriter for Drake, but on Meek Mill’s end, he didn’t like that gesture too much. “This was my first time really talking with Meek and basically he told me that he didn’t appreciate the letter that I dropped and it made it seem like he was a liar,” Miller said in an interview with DJ Vlad. “And they fu**ing stole off on me in the Nike store and ran. I shed blood in the Nike store.”
