Taking a memo from rap artists like C-Murder, Gucci Mane, Vybz Kartel, and Lil Boosie, Ralo‘s incarceration will not halt his rap career.
Born Terrell Davis, he’s currently detained at Georgia’s Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility. His attempts to set a court appearance to get a pre-trial release have been unsuccessful, Forbes reports.
Despite this occurrence, Ralo released Conspiracy in mid-October, his follow-up project to February’s Diary of the Streets 3. The album finds the Atlanta native discussing the black man’s plight in America.
“I really wanted to tell the world my story before I was even incarcerated,” Ralo told Forbes. “It’s always two sides to a story.” On the project’s release, Ralo also said Conspiracy wouldn’t have the same impact if he was a free man. “If I would’ve dropped Conspiracy while I was on the streets when I get out, it wouldn’t have been as sentimental as it is while I’m incarcerated,” he said.
In April 2018, the Famerica Records rapper was placed in federal custody for charges of conspiracy to commit a felony. Authorities discovered nearly $1 million worth of marijuana in his Georgia home.
