It doesn’t look like Rebel Wilson was too pleased about being proven wrong after uttering an incorrect statement. The Aussie comedienne and actress said on Ellen that she was the first plus-sized woman to be the lead in a romantic comedy; she’ll be starring in the upcoming film, Isn’t It Romantic.
Many Twitter users were quick to point out that the Pitch Perfect star was strong and wrong in her claim, and even Mo’Nique got in on the constructive feedback. However, the Oscar-winning actress didn’t catch the ire of Wilson’s block-hand.
A horde of black people noticed that the actress blocked them for pointing out her mistake. Blocked users ran with it, however, by using the hashtag “#RebelWilsonBlockedMe.”
“@RebelWilson can you block me too since you wanna block every black women that’s been educating you about all the dumb sh*t you’ve said,” one wrote. Another commented “It’s nothing new to me that @RebelWilson is trash. She’s been trash since her stunt at the MTV awards when she dressed as a cop and made an all lives matter/black lives matter joke.”
After her comments made waves on the Web, Mo’Nique tweeted “Let’s please not allow this business to erase our talent with giving grey areas and technicalities. Take a moment and know the history. DON’T BE A PART OF ERASING IT. I wish you the best.”
