As if the upcoming double-disc Shady XV compilation album wasn’t enough to commemorate the 15-year anniversary (and cause a serious bout with impatience), Eminem and company will also release a 66-track mixtape. And that’s a cut-down from the original number of tracks, according to DJ Whoo Kid.
“You guys gave me 130 records,” DJ Whoo Kid said of Shady’s co-founder Peter Rosenberg to RapRadar. “Physically, you can’t fit all of them on 80-minute CDs, so we had to do a double disc.”
Totaling a whopping three hours, Eminem, Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf, 50 Cent and others will offer previously released music, mixed into one project for the first time. Though no tracklist has been shared, Rosenberg admitted that he revisited tracks like “I Get Money (Remix),” and Em’s version of “Wanksta.”
“Just as a fan, you go back and you listen to some of the posse records, and the freestyles, and the remixes, crazy sh–,” Rosenberg said. “I forgot about all that stuff. And going back and listening to it, it brings back memories. So we did a two-CD thing.”
