Thanksgiving Day is upon us, and to get celebrants in the festive mood, a new social media craze surfaced to make your mouth water. The #UNameItChallenge, inspired by gospel music’s famed Pastor Shirley Caesar’s “Hold My Mule” throwback performance, runs down a laundry list of delectable dishes that you’ll find on the dining room table on Nov. 24.
Since then, social media users have showcased their creative skills by putting their own spin on the challenge. The hashtag finally gained the attention of the award-winning gospel singer, who recently shared her thoughts on “The Willie Moore Jr. Show.”
The elated Caesar said, “I was out in the middle of the ocean, and one of the members from my church showed it to me,” she said. “I was so shocked to see them dancing and boogeying… the Lord is so good to me… to come home and millions are listening to the song…”
