After telling Congress to get off its ass in reforming gun laws, Snoop Lion will be taking a stand against weapons once again as part of the “No Guns Allowed” panel in partnership with BET and the League of Young Voters Education Fund. Participants will discuss practical solutions to the gun violence issue, the value of human life and community responsibility. Confirmed panelists for the roundtable include Snoop Lion, T.I., Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), H.E.L.P.E.R. Foundation Executive Director Melvyn Hayward Jr., writer and director of the critically acclaimed movie on gun violence Fruitvale Station Ryan Coogler, and Executive Director of New Generation Foundation, Brandon Jones.
Snoop also helped bolster the League’s anti-gun initiative by releasing the song “No Guns Allowed” featuring his daughter Cori B and Young Money rapper Drake. “No Guns Allowed” was written about a very personal incident with my family which I talk about in the REINCARNATED documentary,” the reggae-rap star said about the Major Lazer-produced track. “I’m proud the song has sparked a movement and I’m excited about collaborating with the League of Young Voters and BET to spread the message.”
