Snow on tha Bluff star Curtis Snow was arrested over the weekend in Atlanta after a standoff with police for hours over seating at his grandfather’s funeral.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Snow, real name Curtis Ward was allegedly upset about the seating arrangement at the Higher Ground Empowerment Center. An armed person’s call to 911 prompted Ward to lock himself into a women’s bathroom, Atlanta Police Dept. spokesman Officer Lukasz Sajdak told reporters. A SWAT team was brought to the location to negotiate with Ward. The funeral home was locked down and hours later, Ward was arrested.
He was later charged with an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault for another incident. Police claim Ward has been in and out of jail on drug-related offenses.
In 2011, Ward came to fame in the documentary style film, Snow on tha Bluff. Executively produced by Michael K. Williams, the film follows Ward through Atlanta’s English Avenue, known locally as The Bluff. The area is notorious for drug and prostitution as Ward showed during his own “beefs” with a rival gang. The film later gained a cult following on streaming sites like Netflix and Amazon.
