Angela Simmons‘ ex-fiance and the father of her son Sutton Tennyson was tragically murdered over the weekend, after what is believed to be an argument gone wrong. On Wednesday (Nov. 7), the 37-year-old’s alleged murderer turned himself in to authorities.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 44-year-old Michael Williams is reportedly facing “charges of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during a felony.” According to reports, a fugitive squad had been searching for Williams, who is reportedly “devastated” by the allegations that he killed Tennyson.
“Tennyson was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside the open garage on Jewel Drive in an upscale southwest Atlanta community,” Atlanta Police said, per the AJC. The preliminary police report states that Tennyson was talking in the driveway with another man, and after “the conversation escalated,” the man reportedly shot Tennyson multiple times. He later died from injuries sustained during the shooting.
Simmons, the daughter of Run-DMC’s Rev Run and the niece of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, eulogized Tennyson via social media. They have a child together, two-year-old Sutton.
“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift,” she wrote of Tennyson. “I’m hurting. I’m numb. Thank you for the out pouring of love everyone . I cant believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton . I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”
