Taco Bell will be introducing a new menu.
The fast food chain is set to release additions to its menu created by celebrity chef, Lorena Garcia, including black beans, cilantro rice, citrus- and herb-marinated chicken and cilantro dressing.
Taco Bell executive Brian Niccol describes the new menu as “gourmet Mexican,” and says that it was inspired by Garcia. “She brought a lot of new thinking, a lot of fresh approaches to our ingredients that change the flavor profile of the brand,” he said.
The revised menu will be available nationwide on July 5 and includes The Cantina Burrito Bowl and Cantina Burrito, with choices of chicken, steak or a vegetarian option for a cost of nearly $5.
New sides include chips and pico de gallo or corn salsa, chips and guacamole, or black beans and rice, all for $1.49 each.
According to Niccol, the company will be putting over $20 million into TV and digital marketing in the first month of the rollout,
The new items have already been tested in some California locations and resulted in increased lunch and dinner sales in addition to more women customers.
