Earlier this week, Tank revealed one reason as to why R&B group TGT decided to part ways. In a TMZ video, the “Maybe I Deserve” singer said, “Tyrese still doesn’t wanna split the money equally, so we’re done,” a revelation that also prompted a response from Tyrese.
A few days later, Tank further explained the situation and took to his Instagram account to write a lengthy statement. He prefaced the post with, “Don’t go down this road @Tyrese!” adding a meme of his image that reads, “He plays Drake but I write his verse, my verse, and produce the song!”
The R&B veteran went on to point out that Tyrese only addresses the strained situation on social media so he decided to do the same with his response. “Well if he won’t be accountable to us maybe he’ll be accountable to the people and the fans who just want great moments in R&B music!!..”
On Tyrese’s side of Instagram, he posted his suspected retort by sharing a quote said by Oprah, which reads, “You can’t be friends with someone who wants your life.” The “Stay” crooner went on to write, “When you are comfortable in your own skin ….. And more importantly secure and comfortable standing in your own light ……. I’ve learned this very valuable lesson …….. You can never SHINE trying to sit on someone else’s SUN!!!!!”
The trio hit a rough patch last year when Ginuwine chose to separate from the Grammy-nominated group. It was suspected that Tyrese and Tank would continue as a duo, but now it looks like fans will have to wait a little longer to see whether or not they’ll make amends and get back to the music.
