Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested at JFK International Airport in New York on Wednesday (July 10). The rainbow-haired rapper was returning from his European Tour when NYPD arrested him for an outstanding warrant issued by the Houston police back in May, according to reports from TMZ.
Houston police had issued the warrant for Daniel Hernandez (Tekashi’s government name) for an altercation between the rapper and 16-year-old Santiago Albarran at Houston’s Galleria Mall. The misdemeanor assault took place in January, when Albarran reportedly approached 6ix9ine, calling him a “gay ice cream truck” and “walking lollipop.”
According to a tweet by Albarran, Tekashi69, who had been hanging out with Ugly God, lost his cool and grabbed him by the collar, leaving visible marks on his neck.

Tekashi’s team apparently knew about the citation and were planning on addressing it in the near future. They feel that the NYPD has no business stepping into the matter.
